Diospyros ebenum, commonly known as Ceylon Ebony or Ebony Tree, is a slow-growing tropical tree famous for its extremely hard dark black wood used in luxury furniture, carvings, and musical instruments. Native to South Asia, it is valued for both its ornamental foliage and premium timber quality.
Short Germination Tips:
Soak seeds in warm water for 24 hours before sowing.
Sow seeds 1–2 cm deep in rich well-draining moist soil.
Keep soil consistently moist but not waterlogged.
Place in a warm bright location (22–30°C ideal).
Germination usually occurs within 3–8 weeks.
